Business Supports and Hiring Trends in 2025 across Ireland

From recruitment trends to evolving skills demands, one standout takeaway is clear: salaries are on the rise in the business support sector.

As demand for experienced administrative professionals intensifies, employers are adjusting salary offerings to attract and retain talent. In 2025, the report highlights a notable increase in average salaries across permanent and temporary clerical roles, especially in urban centres such as Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

Salaries Expectations in Business Support

According to the report, administrative assistants and office managers have seen salary bands increase by 5–10% year-on-year. Entry-level roles are also commanding higher wages, driven by candidate shortages and growing expectations around flexibility and hybrid working arrangements.

For instance:

  • Admin Assistants now command up to €32,000 in larger cities.
  • Office Managers can expect between €40,000–€50,000 depending on sector and experience.
  • Executive PAs in high-demand regions are earning upwards of €55,000.

This trend aligns with broader market movement, where support functions are increasingly recognised as critical to business continuity and operational efficiency.

A Competitive Talent Market

Recruiters are reporting a highly competitive landscape for skilled support staff. Temporary staffing remains strong, but there’s growing interest in permanent placements, reflecting economic confidence and long-term workforce planning.

Employers are advised to benchmark their offerings against national data to stay competitive.
