CNC Service Engineer
Galway / Limerick | Field Based | Company Vehicle
A leading precision engineering solutions company is seeking a CNC Service Engineer to join its growing field service team. This is a nationwide field-based position, with candidates ideally located in Galway, Limerick or the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Service Engineer, Maintenance Technician or Mechatronic Technician who enjoys fault finding and wants to develop specialist expertise within CNC machine tool technology.
The Role
Working as part of an experienced team of Field Service Engineers, you will provide technical support to customers throughout Ireland, covering the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of CNC equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding on CNC machinery
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Installation and commissioning of CNC equipment
- Carrying out annual servicing and preventative maintenance
- Providing technical support to customers
- Liaising with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues
- Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics
The Candidate
Ideally, you will have previous experience working with CNC machinery, PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment or within an industrial maintenance environment.
You should have:
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience
- Experience working with CNC and/or PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- A good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
- Some knowledge of electronics
- The ability to read and interpret technical schematics
- Good computer literacy
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Good written and spoken English
- A full driving licence
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be an advantage, as would an understanding of CNC code or Ladder Logic.
A Level 5 qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline, or a recognised mechanical, electrical or mechatronic apprenticeship, would also be beneficial.
