Yard Operative / Senior Yard Operative

FRS Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Agri & Construction Supplies business in the North-East Galway region for a Yard Operative / Senior Yard Operative to join their team.
This is a flexible opportunity offering either full-time or part-time hours, making it an excellent fit for someone seeking a long-term career in the agri-trade sector. It may particularly suit a part-time farmer looking to supplement their income, while candidates seeking full-time employment are also encouraged to apply.
The role is also well suited to individuals with experience in agricultural merchants, builders' providers, DIY stores, hardware retailers, construction supplies, farm supplies, or general yard operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely using a forklift
- Assisting customers and providing excellent service in the yard
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Managing goods inwards and goods outwards
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory control
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
- Carrying out occasional van deliveries as required
- Adhering to all company Health & Safety procedures
- Manual handling of products and materials as part of daily duties
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an agricultural merchant, builders' providers, DIY retailer, hardware store, construction supplies business, or similar environment
- A practical, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Forklift experience and certification would be an advantage, but training can be provided
- A willingness to learn and take ownership of day-to-day yard operations
