Currently seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Process Technician to join a chemical production company in Co. Cork.
This is a hands-on operational role involving wastewater process monitoring, laboratory analysis, chemical dosing support and production activities. The successful candidate will work across both production operations and laboratory environments, with a key focus on maintaining and optimising wastewater treatment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine sampling and laboratory analysis of water and wastewater samples.
- Perform and interpret jar testing to support wastewater treatment optimisation, including coagulation and flocculation assessments.
- Monitor wastewater treatment performance and assist with process adjustments to achieve compliance and operational targets.
- Support chemical dosing operations and ensure correct chemical usage.
- Identify and troubleshoot process issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Maintain accurate operational, environmental and laboratory records.
- Support chemical manufacturing activities and production processes.
- Assist with plant maintenance, equipment checks and general housekeeping.
- Operate production equipment, including forklift and bobcat (training can be provided where required).
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Experience operating, monitoring or managing wastewater treatment systems, effluent treatment plants or water treatment processes.
- Practical understanding of wastewater treatment principles, including sampling, jar testing, coagulation/flocculation and chemical dosing processes.
- Experience with sampling, testing and monitoring water quality parameters.
- Ability to interpret results and make practical process adjustments.
- A practical approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small operational team.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
