Working closely with our client, FRS Recruitment are seeking a Utilities Operative (Civils & Electrical) to join a growing utilities and infrastructure contractor operating across the Southeast.
The successful candidate will join an established crew delivering a range of utility and public lighting projects across Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Tipperary. Working as part of a team of three, you will be involved in enabling works, trenching, ducting, column installation and general civil activities supporting utility and electrical infrastructure projects.
This is a permanent position offering stable long-term work, regular overtime opportunities and ongoing training for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within utilities, civils, groundworks or public lighting projects. Category C Driving Licence, along with 360 Excavator and Dumper tickets, would be highly advantageous, although training can be provided for the right individual.

Salary & Benefits

Responsibilities
- Carry out trenching, ducting and enabling works safely
- Assist with utility and public lighting infrastructure projects
- Support installation of columns and associated civil works
- Operate plant and equipment where appropriately certified
- Work alongside crew members to deliver projects efficiently
- Maintain high standards of health and safety on site
- Assist with reinstatement and general groundworks activities
- Liaise with supervisors and site personnel as required
- Complete daily tasks in line with project programmes
- Ensure equipment and work areas are maintained appropriately
Requirements
- Previous experience within Construction, ideally in civils, utilities or groundworks
- Experience working on infrastructure or utility projects desirable
- Full clean driving licence
- Category C licence highly desirable
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification advantageous
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site-based team
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements
- Good work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
