The Role

My client, a well established Transport Company is seeking an experienced Transport Operations Administrator to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent, office based position working 4 days over 7.

As the Transport Operations Administrator you will be responsible for supporting transport operations through the scheduling and coordination of drivers and fleet movements within a high-volume, 7-day logistics operation.

Tasks & Duties

  • Plan and schedule daily home deliveries and stock movements to depots across ROI.
  • Optimise resource utilisation (drivers, vehicles, routes) to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor live deliveries, driver locations, and schedules to ensure smooth service delivery and on-time performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding routes, delivery queries, and on-the-road issues.
  • Liaise with Transport Management, Operations, and Maintenance teams to resolve scheduling, service, and off-road vehicle issues.
  • Manage and respond to customer and grocery partner queries, including complaints, non-deliveries, and rescheduling requests.
  • Ensure accurate recording of driver working hours via the Time & Attendance system and support payroll processing.
  • Ensure compliance with budgets and Working Time Act regulations, while communicating schedules clearly and supporting high customer service standards.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Strong customer service mindset with a commitment to high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven administration experience, with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage records, scheduling, and documentation accurately.
  • Highly organised with strong planning and multitasking skills, able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Good geographical knowledge with the ability to support efficient planning and operations.
  • Strong communication skills, with a professional, flexible, and team-focused approach; own transport essential.
  • A full, clean category B drivers license and own vehicle is essential as travel is involved.
  • Ability to work a flexible shift pattern, including early, late, and weekend shifts as required.
