Trade Counter Sales Assistant
Location: Rathdowney with a move to Abbeyleix
Working Hours: 5 days per week, to include every second Saturday(with a mid-week day off in lieu, or standard shift rotation).
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join our busy branch. In this role, you will be the friendly face of our business, greeting trade professionals, building contractors, and retail customers, providing expert product advice, and processing sales.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service at the trade counter, answering queries, quoting prices, and processing sales orders efficiently.
- Ensure the trade counter and showroom areas are well-stocked, clean, visually appealing, and stocked with the latest product displays.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for collection or local delivery, working closely with the warehouse and logistics team.
- Build a strong understanding of our extensive range of hardware, tools, plumbing, and building supplies to provide accurate recommendations to customers.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience working on a busy trade counter, in a builders' providers, hardware store, or a customer-facing retail/sales environment.
- Good working knowledge of building materials, hardware products, or general trade supplies is a distinct advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, helpful, and professional telephone and in-person manner.
- Willingness to work a 5-day week that regularly includes working every second Saturday.
- Comfortable using EPOS (electronic point of sale) systems and basic computer applications.
