Customer Technical Lead

Driving Product Excellence & Customer Satisfaction

My client, a leading Midlands based Food Production company is seeking an experienced Customer Technical Lead to lead product quality, customer standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a high-profile, customer-facing role within a progressive food manufacturing business renowned for quality, innovation, and customer focus.

Working closely with the Head of Technical & NPD, you will act as the technical lead for key customers across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead customer quality initiatives, product improvement projects, and technical relationship management.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers on food safety, quality, compliance, and product performance.
  • Ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, GMP, customer standards, and all relevant legislation.
  • Manage customer and third-party audits, ensuring the site remains audit-ready at all times.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects across Quality, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints, implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance on food safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Support new product launches, artwork approvals, and product development projects.
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager when required.

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in a senior Technical, Quality, or Food Safety role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, GMP, food legislation, and quality management systems.
  • Proven experience leading audits, customer-facing projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
