The Opportunity

We are working with a rapidly expanding professional services firm in Limerick that is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Manager to join its established tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified tax professional who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to take a leading role within a growing practice.

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients across the Mid-West business community, providing high-quality tax compliance and advisory services while working closely with the Partner/Director and wider accounts team.

The role will suit someone who combines strong technical tax knowledge with a commercial and client-focused approach, and who is keen to contribute to the continued development of the tax function.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Technical Delivery

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients.
  • Prepare, review and oversee Corporation Tax and Income Tax returns and related filings.
  • Provide technical tax advice and support to clients across a broad range of sectors.
  • Advise clients on relevant tax matters and identify appropriate tax planning opportunities.
  • Ensure all tax compliance work is completed accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Assist clients with Revenue correspondence and queries where required.
  • Research and resolve technical tax issues, providing clear and practical advice.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensure clients are advised appropriately.
  • Work closely with the accounts team and Portfolio Managers to provide a joined-up service to clients.

Client Management & Advisory

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for clients on tax-related matters.
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses and provide commercially focused advice.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional tax and advisory services.
  • Assist Partners/Directors with more complex client assignments and advisory projects.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm's tax offering.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide guidance, support and technical direction to members of the tax team.
  • Review work prepared by junior members of the team.
  • Assist with workflow management and allocation of tax assignments.
  • Support the training and development of team members.
  • Promote a high standard of technical accuracy and client service across the tax function.
  • Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies within the department.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognised tax or accounting qualification, such as CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Strong experience within an accountancy or professional services practice.
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of corporate and/or personal tax clients.
  • Strong technical knowledge across Corporation Tax and Income Tax.
  • Good knowledge of Irish tax legislation and Revenue requirements.
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • Experience reviewing work and supporting or developing junior team members.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.
  • A commercial mindset and genuine interest in understanding clients' businesses.
  • A good working knowledge of the Mid-West business environment.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities within a busy practice.
