The Opportunity
We’re recruiting an experienced Systems Analyst to join a public sector client on an initial 12-month contract, with the potential for a further two 12-month extensions.
This is an opportunity to work within the client's Technology, Platforms & Solutions function, acting as the link between business requirements and technical delivery.
You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, architects, developers and QA colleagues to understand requirements, analyse existing systems and processes, and help shape effective technical solutions.
What You'll Do
- Gather, analyse and document business and user requirements.
- Translate requirements into clear technical specifications and user stories.
- Define appropriate quality and acceptance criteria for requirements.
- Analyse existing systems, applications and business processes.
- Produce functional and technical documentation, diagrams, models and other project artefacts.
- Support Solution and Technical Architects with technical architecture activities.
- Review technical documentation and artefacts produced by third parties.
- Work closely with Development and QA teams throughout delivery and testing.
- Support the identification and implementation of technical solutions that meet business requirements.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to project planning, implementation and resource planning.
- Research and quickly develop an understanding of new technologies where required.
What We're Looking For
You’ll need:
- 4–6 years' substantial professional experience in a relevant technical/Systems Analysis environment.
- A minimum Level 8 qualification, including computing or computational modules in the final year.
- Experience gathering and analysing business and user requirements.
- Strong experience creating user stories and acceptance/quality criteria.
- Experience producing technical project documentation and artefacts.
- Experience supporting technical or solution architecture.
- Experience working alongside Development and QA teams.
- Knowledge of relational databases, with experience relevant to technologies such as MS SQL, MySQL or MariaDB.
- Experience working with JSON and XML.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- A full driving licence.
- EU Citizenship, a Stamp 4 Visa or a Stamp 1G Spousal Visa where your spouse is on a Stamp 4 Visa or has EU Citizenship. Applications from candidates without any of these categories of work permission will not be considered, including Stamp 1G Graduate Visa applicants.
