Supervising Pharmacist – New Pharmacy Opening in Galway
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Supervising Pharmacist to join a brand-new pharmacy opening in Galway.
This is a full-time, permanent position with Sundays off, offering the successful candidate the unique opportunity to play a key role in the launch and development of a new pharmacy. You will be involved in the pharmacy fit-out, operational setup, regulatory documentation, and the establishment of best-in-class pharmacy services from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the dispensary in accordance with all legal and professional requirements.
- Ensure compliance with PSI regulations, pharmacy legislation, professional ethics, and codes of practice.
- Provide a safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing service to all patients and customers.
- Ensure the safe and effective supply of medicines and healthcare advice.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with patients, healthcare professionals, and the wider community.
- Oversee all monthly claims and submissions.
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the pharmacy business.
- Proactively identify and resolve rejected claims.
- Lead, motivate, and support a strong team of Pharmacy Technicians and OTCs.
Requirements
- PSI-approved Pharmacy qualification with current registration to practise in the Republic of Ireland.
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience.
- Strong experience in a busy community pharmacy environment.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume dispensing setting.
- Commercial awareness and sound business acumen.
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Experience with MPS dispensing software and robotic dispensing systems is desirable.
