Key Responsibilities
Backup & Commvault
- Administer and support Commvault (CommCell environment)
- Manage backup jobs, schedules, retention policies
- Perform data restores (BAU + Disaster Recovery)
- Conduct backup/restore testing and health checks
- Monitor performance, capacity, and resolve issues
- Apply updates, patches, and manage security
- Produce audit-ready documentation and reports
Storage (SAN)
- Support HPE 3PAR & Alletra storage arrays
- Configure LUNs, storage provisioning, capacity
- Assist with upgrades, expansion, and performance tuning
- Monitor hardware/software/firmware health
General / Projects
- Support DR, BC planning and testing
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades & migrations
- Incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis
- Work with internal teams and vendors
- Maintain clear technical documentation
Required Skills & Experience
Core (Essential)
- 4–6 years in Infrastructure / Storage / Backup roles
- Strong Commvault administration (4+ years)
- Experience with:
- Backup & restore (enterprise environments)
- VMware (vSphere)
- SAN storage (3PAR / Alletra preferred)
Technical Expertise
- Commvault components (CommServe, MediaAgent, iDataAgents)
- Backup strategies (full, incremental, DR)
- Storage provisioning (LUNs, replication, policies)
- Monitoring, reporting, and performance tuning
Additional (Desirable)
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint backups
- Knowledge of FC / iSCSI SAN environments
- Tape library / media management
- Automation (Commvault workflows)
Mandatory Requirements
- Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in IT or related field
- Commvault Certified Professional (current)
- HPE Alletra Certified Professional (current)
