Staff Grade Psychologist
Permanent | Full-Time | Dublin (Community-Based CDNT)

A well-established disability service provider is seeking a Staff Grade Psychologist to join a Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career or recently qualified Psychologist looking to develop their skills within a supportive interdisciplinary team.

The Organisation
The service provides community-based supports under the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) model, delivering assessment and intervention to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex developmental needs, including intellectual disability, autism, physical disability, and global developmental delay.

The Role
The Staff Grade Psychologist will work as part of an interdisciplinary CDNT providing comprehensive psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions. The successful candidate will receive structured supervision and support while contributing to family-centred, goal-focused care planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting cognitive, developmental, adaptive functioning, and behavioural assessments

  • Contributing to interdisciplinary assessments and diagnostic processes

  • Developing and implementing intervention plans in collaboration with families and team members

  • Providing psychoeducation and consultation to parents, schools, and other stakeholders

  • Supporting positive behaviour support planning where required

  • Preparing high-quality clinical reports

  • Participating in service development and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Recognised postgraduate qualification in Psychology (Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology )

  • Membership with Psychological Society of Ireland

  • Experience (including placements) working with children and/or individuals with disabilities

  • Strong assessment, formulation, and report-writing skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Full clean driver’s licence and access to own transport

Desirable

  • Experience working within disability services or a CDNT setting

  • Experience completing standardised cognitive and diagnostic assessments

  • Experience supporting children with autism and complex behavioural needs
