FRS Recruitment are working with a rapidly growing Civil Engineering Contractor to recruit a Site Engineer for long-term water and civil infrastructure projects across Limerick, North Kerry and West Cork.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer who enjoys the technical and site-based elements of construction, while also looking to broaden their experience across project coordination and management.

The successful candidate will work across a long-term framework contract, delivering essential water infrastructure projects including pumping stations and associated civil works. The position will offer a good combination of site and office-based work, with the majority of time generally spent across live projects.

There is also strong potential for career progression, with the opportunity to develop towards a Junior Project Manager position as experience grows.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out setting out, surveying and engineering checks.
  • Coordinate day-to-day engineering activities across live construction sites.
  • Support delivery of pumping stations and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and construction activities.
  • Assist Project Managers with planning and project coordination.
  • Maintain accurate site records, reports and project documentation.
  • Monitor works against drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
  • Support projects from construction through testing and completion.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous civil engineering or construction experience is desirable.
  • Practical setting out experience within a site environment.
  • Total Stations & GPS experience are highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills required.
  • Water, utilities or infrastructure experience would be advantageous.
  • Irish or UK construction experience is highly advantageous.
  • Ambition to develop towards project management responsibilities.
