About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a multidisciplinary rehabilitation and residential care service supporting adults with acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, complex trauma, and long-term care needs.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred assessment and intervention services, working closely with residents, families, carers, and the wider MDT to maximise communication, swallowing, independence, and quality of life outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication and dysphagia assessments.
- Develop, implement and review evidence-based treatment plans.
- Manage a varied neurological and complex care caseload.
- Participate in interdisciplinary assessment, rehabilitation planning and discharge processes.
- Provide education, training and support to families, carers and staff.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in line with professional and legal standards.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and accreditation standards.
- Support junior staff, students and therapy assistants where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated resident care.
Requirements
- Degree or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Current CORU registration
- Experience working with adults presenting with neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, dysphagia and complex communication needs.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and report writing skills.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
- Full clean driving licence desirable.
