Senior Speech and Language Therapist (Paediatric)

Location: Co. Wicklow (Hybrid)
Hours: 32 hours per week (flexible hybrid working)
Contract: Permanent
Reports to: Clinical Lead / Director
Salary: €52,000–€62,000 (depending on experience)

We are working with a growing multidisciplinary children’s service providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention to children and young people.

The team works closely with families, schools and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic, child-centred approach to care.

The service has a strong emphasis on professional autonomy, collaboration and maintaining a healthy work-life balance while delivering high clinical standards.


The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will assess and support children presenting with a range of communication needs and will work closely alongside Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists.

This role offers flexibility, autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of a growing private paediatric service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out comprehensive Speech and Language assessments
  • Develop individualised therapy programmes
  • Deliver evidence-based intervention
  • Assess speech, language, communication and social communication needs
  • Work with children with developmental language disorder, speech sound disorders, autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental presentations
  • Complete feeding and swallowing assessments where appropriately trained
  • Provide AAC recommendations where appropriate
  • Produce high-quality assessment and therapy reports
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Liaise with parents, schools, preschools and other professionals
  • Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and team meetings
  • Contribute to integrated reports and case discussions
  • Support service development and quality improvement initiatives

Flexible Hybrid Working

This role offers a flexible hybrid working model to support both clinical delivery and work-life balance.

Working hours can be scheduled between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday, subject to service needs.

Clinicians may select preferred working days in advance (minimum two weeks’ notice required to support scheduling).

Report writing, admin tasks, intake calls and preparation work can be completed remotely where appropriate.

A minimum of one on-site clinic day per week is required, with additional attendance for assessments, MDT clinics, parent meetings and service needs.


Essential Criteria

  • Qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Experience working in Paediatric assessments ideally 3 years we would consider someone with 18+ months exp solely in paediatrics.
  • CORU registration
  • Experience working with a paediatric caseload
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Full driving licence and access to transport
