FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well-established Main Contractor based in Co. Offaly.

Working as part of an established commercial team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial delivery of a large-scale housing development in the Midlands, with the potential to subsequently work on a further major project towards Dublin.

The role will be primarily office-based in Co. Offaly, with site visits generally required one to two days per week, depending on the stage and requirements of the project.

Our client delivers a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the Midlands, Dublin and Leinster, with experience across residential, commercial, retail, educational, healthcare, heritage and high-end construction projects.

This would particularly suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong Main Contractor experience in Ireland or the UK, who is comfortable taking commercial responsibility for sizeable construction projects while working as part of an experienced commercial team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial delivery of a large residential development.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, appointments and commercial performance.
  • Prepare valuations, cost reports and project financial forecasts.
  • Manage variations, claims and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Monitor project costs against agreed budgets and targets.
  • Work closely with project and site management teams.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with subcontractors and key stakeholders.
  • Manage project accounts through to final account agreement.

Requirements

  • Strong Quantity Surveying experience within a Main Contractor.
  • Irish or UK construction experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Residential project experience would be particularly beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
  • Confident managing subcontractor packages and commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent cost reporting, forecasting and financial management abilities.
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction-related third-level qualification.
  • Capable of commercially managing sizeable projects with autonomy.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary starting from €83,000, depending on experience.
