FRS Recruitment are working closely with a well-established Irish main contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a landmark heritage building project in Athlone.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious development involving the restoration, renovation and extension of a historic building, combining traditional craftsmanship with the construction of a high-quality modern extension. The successful candidate will play a key commercial role throughout the project, working closely with the site and management teams to ensure successful delivery from commencement through to final account.
The project is expected to run for over two years, offering excellent long-term stability, with further opportunities available across the company's growing project portfolio thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial aspects of the project from commencement to completion.
- Prepare and manage valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and commercial performance.
- Procure and administer subcontractor packages and agreements.
- Prepare cost reports, CVRs and commercial updates for senior management.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure contractual compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor, ideally in Irish/UK construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
- Excellent understanding of standard forms of construction contract.
- Previous experience on commercial, public sector or restoration projects is desirable.
- Heritage project experience would be highly advantageous.
- Strong communication, negotiation and commercial management skills.
