About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join a multidisciplinary rehabilitation and residential care service supporting adults with acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, complex trauma, and long-term care needs.

The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation support to residents while working collaboratively with families, carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychologist with an interest in neurorehabilitation, complex care, and person-centred practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, and support to adults with neurological and complex care needs.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review evidence-based treatment plans and rehabilitation goals.
  • Support residents experiencing cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and adjustment difficulties.
  • Work closely with residents, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to optimise rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary assessment, care planning, and discharge processes.
  • Provide consultation, education, and training to staff, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and outcome measures in line with professional standards.
  • Participate in service development, quality improvement initiatives, accreditation processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to junior staff, students, and assistants where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
  • Eligibility for PSI membership.
  • Experience working with adults presenting with acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, cognitive impairment, or complex rehabilitation needs.
  • Strong assessment, intervention, report writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Full clean driving licence desirable.

What's on Offer

  • Opportunity to work within a specialist rehabilitation environment.
  • Diverse and rewarding caseload with complex neurological presentations.
  • Supportive multidisciplinary team.
  • Ongoing professional development and CPD opportunities.
  • Permanent role with opportunities to contribute to service development and innovation.

This role would suit a motivated psychologist who is passionate about rehabilitation, person-centred care, and supporting individuals to maximise their independence, well being, and quality of life.
