I’m currently recruiting for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a well-established private hospital in Westmeath.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced OT looking to join a supportive multidisciplinary team where you’ll have the opportunity to work across rehabilitation, functional assessment and discharge planning, while continuing to develop your clinical skills.

The Role

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you’ll manage a varied caseload and provide high-quality, patient-centred Occupational Therapy from assessment through to intervention and discharge.

Your role will include:

• Completing comprehensive Occupational Therapy and functional assessments.

• Assessing patients’ ability to manage activities of daily living and identifying barriers to independence.

• Developing individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans based on patients’ goals and clinical needs.

• Supporting patients to maximise their independence, function and quality of life.

• Contributing to discharge planning and ensuring patients have appropriate supports in place before leaving the hospital.

• Assessing the need for equipment, adaptations and other practical supports.

• Carrying out environmental or home assessments where required.

• Providing education, advice and practical guidance to patients, families and carers.

• Working closely with the wider MDT to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.

• Liaising with community services and other healthcare professionals where appropriate to support continuity of care.

• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and reports in line with professional and organisational standards.

As a Senior OT, you’ll also have the opportunity to provide clinical support and guidance to junior colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development of the Occupational Therapy service.

About You

We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist who is:

• CORU registered and eligible to practise in Ireland.

• Experienced at Senior Grade level or an experienced Staff Grade OT ready to take the next step.

• Ideally experienced within a hospital, rehabilitation, acute, older persons or community setting.

• Confident carrying out functional assessments and developing evidence-based intervention plans.

• Experienced in discharge planning and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Comfortable managing a varied caseload and working with a good degree of clinical autonomy.

• A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues.

• Passionate about delivering person-centred care and achieving meaningful outcomes for patients.
