FRS are seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to join their growing commercial team based in Longford.
Our client is a well-established specialist contractor delivering projects across commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial, logistics, data centre, infrastructure and mixed-use sectors throughout Ireland and the UK.
Working closely with the Commercial Director and wider commercial team, the successful candidate will play a key role in securing future projects through the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders. This position offers involvement in a diverse portfolio of construction projects, exposure to senior decision-makers and excellent long-term career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for construction projects
- Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications
- Analyse project risks, opportunities and commercial considerations
- Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare detailed pricing submissions and tender documentation
- Work closely with the Commercial Director on tender strategies
- Attend tender review meetings and commercial discussions
- Maintain and develop estimating databases and cost information
- Liaise with design, commercial and project delivery teams
- Assist with project handovers following successful tender awards
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
- 6+ years' estimating experience within the construction industry, ideally within the Irish or UK industry
- Strong understanding of construction methods and project delivery
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience within specialist contracting, engineering or construction environments desirable
