We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing professional services firm seeking an experienced Senior Audit Professional to join its Audit & Assurance team in Limerick.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong practice experience who is looking to take the next step in their career within a progressive and supportive firm. Working closely with Partners and senior leadership, you will manage a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses across a variety of sectors, including construction, retail, distribution, engineering and professional services.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing audit engagements from planning through to completion while delivering a high-quality service to clients. The role offers excellent exposure to technical accounting, client advisory work and team leadership, with genuine opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients across a range of industries.
  • Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm methodology.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the audit process.
  • Monitor audit resources and ensure effective utilisation across engagements.
  • Manage engagement budgets, billing, work in progress and cash collection.
  • Support and mentor junior team members through coaching, training and ongoing development.
  • Collaborate on advisory projects, including strategic business planning, technical accounting matters, accounting framework transitions and cross-functional projects with Tax and Advisory teams.
  • Promote audit quality, consistency and continuous improvement across engagements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Approximately five years' post-qualification experience gained within a medium or large accountancy practice.
  • Strong audit and financial reporting experience.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience managing client relationships and leading audit engagements.
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
