Field Sales Representative – Construction & Building Supplies

Midlands & South-East

We are seeking an energetic, results-driven, and experienced Field Sales Representative to join our team on behalf of our client, a leading building provider opening a new branch during an exciting growth phase.

In this role, you will take ownership of a well-defined territory covering Tipperary, Kilkenny, Laois, and Offaly, driving sales and building strong commercial relationships directly with building contractors, trade professionals, and local projects. If you have a proven track record in field sales within the construction or hardware industry and a talent for closing deals, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, pitch, and secure new business accounts with building contractors and developers across your designated territory.

  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing trade customers, ensuring high levels of customer service, repeat business, and satisfaction.

  • Effectively manage daily and weekly route planning to maximize face-to-face meetings on construction sites and in offices.

  • Introduce new product lines, promotions, and technical solutions to contractors, providing expert advice on building supplies and hardware.

  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs.

  • Keep a pulse on local construction activity, competitor pricing, and emerging market trends within the region.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of proven track record in a field sales role directly within the construction, hardware, builders' providers, or related building materials industry.

  • Strong existing network or deep familiarity working with building contractors, sub-contractors, and trade professionals.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build rapport on site and in the boardroom.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to manage your own territory, schedule, and pipeline autonomously.

  • Full, clean driving licence
