Risk & Compliance Specialist

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk & Compliance Specialist to join the operations team of a well-established organisation in Limerick.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will join a four-person team and play a key role in maintaining high compliance standards across risk, health and safety, quality, environmental management, sustainability, IT and facilities.
This is a varied position offering exposure across the wider business, with the opportunity to take ownership of compliance activities, coordinate external service providers and support continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess and manage compliance risks across the organisation.
- Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
- Conduct audits across areas including data protection, health and safety, environmental requirements, anti-corruption, competition law and supplier compliance.
- Coordinate external facilities management and health and safety contractors.
- Monitor service delivery, inspections, maintenance activities and corrective actions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for facilities and health and safety service providers.
- Undertake field visits nationwide to conduct assessments at branch locations and, where required, with the mobile workforce.
- Prepare and present compliance, risk, facilities and health and safety reports to senior management.
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on potential impacts.
- Support the development of risk mitigation strategies, corrective actions and improvement plans.
- Assist with compliance incidents, health and safety matters, crisis situations and significant facilities issues.
- Provide practical guidance to managers and employees across the organisation.
Skills and experience
- A third-level qualification in Compliance, Health and Safety, Facilities Management, Risk Management, Business Studies, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in compliance, risk or a related area.
- A minimum of three years’ relevant professional experience is desirable.
- Strong analytical and data-handling skills, with the ability to interpret information and prepare clear reports.
- Proven ability to take ownership of queries and bring matters through to resolution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity and professional judgement.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Experience coordinating external contractors or service providers would be advantageous.
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide are essential.
The offer
- Salary of €37,000 to €42,000, depending on experience.
- Hybrid working, with up to two remote days per week.
- Pension.
- Standard working hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8.45 am to 5.00 pm
- Friday: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm
