Job Title: Refuge Coordinator

Post: Full-Time (39h pw) & Permanent

Salary: €68,754 per annum

Reports to: Head of Services

Location: North Dublin/Finglas Based

The purpose of this role is to oversee the daily operations of Aoibhneas Domestic Abuse Support Service for Women and Children’ Refuge Centre, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, safe, and supportive services for women and children. Reporting directly to the Head of Services, the Coordinator will play a central role in maintaining service standards, supporting staff, and ensuring that the refuge operates efficiently, effectively, and with compassion.

Role requires successful candidate to be flexible to locations due to nature of service and working hours cover 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, between 9.am and 6pm.

Essential Requirements:

  • Third Level Qualification at degree level in social science, social care or related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in a social care setting, including three years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong skills in case management, risk assessment, decision-making and inter-agency working.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse and issues affecting women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Ability to assess the needs and risks to women and children experiencing domestic abuse in crisis situations and act appropriately and professionally, using problem solving processes.
  • Experience in volunteer recruitment and support.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and team-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including recording of data and report writing.
