FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer on behalf of an established mechanical contractor based in Southwest Dublin.
The successful candidate will work across a strong pipeline of commercial and public-sector projects throughout Dublin, including large office developments and fit-outs, schools, hospitals, healthcare facilities and other commercial buildings.
Projects can range from shorter 1–2 month programmes through to larger projects lasting 6 months or more, providing good variety across new installations, upgrades and ongoing HVAC works.
This is a hands-on, predominantly site-based position, open to experienced Refrigeration/HVAC Technicians, Service Engineers and suitably qualified tradespeople. F-Gas Certification is essential for this role.
Working as part of an established project delivery team, you will work closely with Project Managers and Mechanical Supervisors, supporting the installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems across multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Install refrigeration and air conditioning systems across project sites.
- Complete planned and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults within existing systems.
- Carry out repairs efficiently to minimise equipment downtime.
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide practical technical solutions.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Supervisors and project stakeholders.
- Complete service reports, maintenance records and job documentation.
- Maintain high health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Qualified Refrigeration/HVAC Technician with completed relevant apprenticeship.
- 4+ years' relevant post-trade industry experience , ideally in Ireland/UK.
- Strong refrigeration and air conditioning systems knowledge required.
- F-Gas certification is essential for this position.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding capabilities are required.
- Comfortable working independently across multiple Dublin project locations.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification required.
- Full clean Irish driving licence is essential.
