R&D Manager – Medical Devices (NPD)
I am currently seeking an experienced R&D Manager to join my client a leading global medical device manufacturer. This is a senior role within a high-performing New Product Development team, offering the opportunity to lead complex projects from early concept through to design transfer, supporting the delivery of innovative products to market.
This position will suit someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on technical involvement and leadership, with strong experience working within regulated environments and design control requirements. A strong salary and comprehensive benefits package is on offer.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead new product development projects (planning, resourcing, timelines, budget)
- Oversee product design, prototyping, testing, and technical reporting
- Drive design transfer into manufacturing, including validation activities
- Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain and external vendors
- Mentor and develop R&D engineers, supporting performance and progression
Key requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical Engineering (or similar)
- 8+ years’ experience in R&D / process development in a regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of design controls and regulatory standards (FDA QSR / ISO)
- Experience with validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), protocols and technical documentation
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability
