FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Intermediate / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor based in Cork City.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established commercial team, with a strong pipeline of upcoming projects across Cork, Limerick and the wider Munster region.
The position is not tied to one specific project and will offer exposure to a varied portfolio of major construction works, with residential and pharmaceutical projects forming part of the wider pipeline.
The role will offer a mixture of office, hybrid and project-based working, with travel required across the Munster region. The successful candidate will ideally have 4+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience and be operating at Intermediate or Senior level.
Responsibilities
- Manage project costs and value throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Procure subcontract packages and provide recommendations on appointments.
- Assess subcontractor valuations, variations and final account submissions.
- Prepare monthly valuations and support ongoing commercial cost reporting.
- Complete cost-value reconciliations and project financial forecasts.
- Identify value engineering opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide commercial and contractual guidance to project management teams.
- Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
Requirements
- 4+ years Quantity Surveying experience within construction, ideally in the Irish Construction Industry with a Main Contractor.
- Intermediate or Senior Quantity Surveyor level experience is required.
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- Residential or pharmaceutical project experience would be highly desirable.
- Strong commercial, contractual and subcontractor management capabilities required.
- SCSI membership or progress towards membership would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel throughout Cork, Limerick and wider Munster.
