Senior Quantity Surveyor – Kerry
Building & Civil Engineering Projects
A well-established and growing construction contractor is currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Kerry.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional to take a leading role across a range of building and civil engineering projects, working closely with senior management and project delivery teams.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring strong commercial performance and effective cost control throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
- Quantity take-offs and cost planning
- Management of subcontractor and supplier procurement
- Contract administration, variations, and claims management
- Monitoring project expenditure and implementing cost control measures
- Identifying value engineering opportunities
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
- Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed commercial targets
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role with a main contractor
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Experience across building, fit-out, or civil engineering projects
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management ability
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
- Full driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland
