Quantity Surveyor – Dublin

A leading Irish main contractor is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on major construction projects in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS to join a well-established contractor delivering high-profile projects across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs and commercial performance from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget and programme.
  • Prepare subcontract packages and place subcontract orders in line with procurement schedules.
  • Manage subcontractor valuations, payments, and variations.
  • Submit external valuations and manage project cash flow effectively.
  • Prepare accurate CVRs and forecasting reports.
  • Identify commercial risks and provide early warnings where necessary.
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts with both clients and subcontractors.
  • Support and mentor junior commercial team members.
  • Assist with value engineering and buildability reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with contract conditions including JCT/NEC forms of contract.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • 8+ years’ experience within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience working with a main contractor in a senior commercial role.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration and cost control.
  • Experience working on concrete frame, steel frame, or large-scale building projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
  • Full driving licence required.
