Our client, a well established food manufacturing company in West Cork, is seeking a Quality Supervisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional looking to take the next step in their career within a fast paced food production environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining food safety, quality, legality, and compliance standards across the site. You will support the management of the Quality team and take responsibility for quality operations when required, ensuring the highest standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and supervise the Quality team on a daily basis
  • Lead quality operations in the absence of the Quality Manager
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Quality Management System and HACCP programme
  • Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, customer requirements, and industry standards
  • Support internal, customer, third-party, and regulatory audits
  • Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Review production records and maintain calibration programmes
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding quality documentation, specifications, and complaints
  • Support employee training and promote a strong food safety culture throughout the business
  • Monitor quality performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a Quality, QA, or Technical role within food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety systems, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience supporting audits and maintaining quality management systems
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience is advantageous
