Quality Manager-Cork

A well-established Cork based food manufacturer is continuing to expand its operations and is now seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join the team.
The business manufactures a wide range of nutritional products serving multiple sectors, with a strong focus on quality, food/feed safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
The business is undergoing significant expansion, including the construction of a new production facility and a major increase in manufacturing capacity. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in developing and strengthening the Quality function as the business grows.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Lead and manage the Quality function across all manufacturing operations, ensuring strong quality performance, product release and robust compliance systems.
- Maintain effective traceability and batch record systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity and accessibility of records.
- Lead regulatory and certification compliance, ensuring adherence to DAFM, HACCP, UFAS, NOPS, GMP+ and relevant customer and industry standards.
- Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) and document control processes.
- Develop and oversee the analytical testing programme, using HACCP and risk assessment principles.
- Lead the internal audit programme and manage all external audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring findings are addressed promptly.
- Oversee supplier approval, raw material change control and cross-functional assessment of quality and regulatory impacts.
- Manage the customer complaints process, ensuring effective investigation, corrective action and timely closure.
- Lead non-conformance, root cause analysis and corrective action, driving continuous improvement across the site.
- Monitor and trend key quality and site performance metrics, leading quality review meetings and follow-up actions.
- Develop team capability through effective training, coaching and support.
- Work closely with Operations, Technical, Commercial and other functions to deliver site objectives and maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
Experience & Skills
- Prior experience as a Quality Manager in a production processing environment
- 10 years minimum experience in a pharma or food production environment.
- Degree in a Science related subject
- Level 5 or higher HACCP certification
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, with strong knowledge of food/feed legislation, customer standards and Codes of Practice
- Formal Audit Training / Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor experience
