Quality Engineer / Technician | Shannon

My client, a growing manufacturing company in Shannon is seeking a Quality Engineer / Technician to join its quality team. Working closely with the Quality Manager, this is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives, support audits, and ensure the highest quality standards are maintained across the business.

This position would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and takes pride in maintaining robust quality systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring the business remains audit-ready at all times.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why and Fishbone analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects using DMAIC and Lean principles to improve quality and process capability.
  • Manage the calibration programme for all measurement and test equipment.
  • Review and approve quality documentation and manufacturing records prior to product release.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support compliance activities and maintain quality management system documentation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a manufacturing or regulated production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of DMAIC, 8D, 5-Why and Fishbone problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience working with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or AS9100 would be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and technical documentation skills.
  • Experience supporting audits and managing corrective actions.
  • A machining background would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification would be an advantage.
