Our client, a leading food production company based in West Cork, is seeking a dedicated Quality Controller to join their quality team on a full time, permanent basis.
This role focuses on ensuring food safety, product integrity and compliance across the quality management system while working closely with production, suppliers and customers.
Commutable from Clonakilty, Bandon, Skibbereen, Bantry, Macroom, Kinsale and Ballincollig.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage food safety, integrity and legality requirements, including maintenance of QMS, HACCP and production records
- Maintain calibration registers for plant and laboratory equipment
- Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding quality standards, documentation and queries
- Draft and maintain final product specifications
- Monitor quality standards and implement corrective actions
- Conduct regular document reviews and support continuous improvement
- Escalate procedural issues and report quality performance to the Quality Manager
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar food quality role
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
- Experience working with HACCP and compliance standards
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Confident communicating with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
