Psychologist – Children’s Services
Hybrid | Wicklow
A well-established, multi award-winning children’s services provider is seeking a Psychologist to join its growing multidisciplinary team. The service is grounded in strong values, ethical practice and a genuinely family-centred approach, offering children and their families clarity, understanding and practical pathways forward.
The clinic places a strong emphasis on collaboration, reflective practice and creating a supportive environment where clinicians feel valued, listened to and professionally fulfilled.
The Role
The Psychologist will work with children and families as part of a warm, experienced multidisciplinary team. While autism assessment forms a key part of the role, the position is embedded within a service that prioritises thoughtful, ethical practice and positive family experience over volume-driven work.
Key Responsibilities
• Completing autism diagnostic assessments with children and young people
• Administration, scoring and interpretation of ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R
• Contributing to multidisciplinary formulation and shared clinical decision-making
• Preparing clear, compassionate and high-quality assessment and diagnostic reports
• Providing feedback to parents and caregivers in a supportive, respectful manner
• Working closely with Occupational Therapists and other clinicians
• Maintaining clinical records in line with PSI and professional standards
Hybrid Working
This is a hybrid role. On-site attendance is required to conduct assessments with children and families, while remote working is possible for report writing, administration and other non-assessment tasks. The balance of on-site and remote work will support both service delivery and clinician flexibility.
Essential Criteria
• Recognised qualification in Psychology
• PSI registration
• Minimum 1 year experience working with children and young people in an assessment context
• Formal training and experience in ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R (essential)
• Strong clinical formulation, communication and report-writing skills
• A collaborative, values-led approach to clinical work
What the Service Offers
• A supportive, clinician-led environment with strong values and culture
• Genuine MDT collaboration and shared learning
• Flexible hybrid working arrangements
• Administrative support that protects clinical time
• A thoughtful, ethical approach to assessment and family care
