Discovery & Assessment of Needs Project- Psychologist

Location: North Dublin, with some travel to satellite locations
Duration: Approximately 8 weeks

We are currently recruiting Psychologists to join a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) for an exciting Discovery and Assessment of Needs Project within an adult Disability Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals who are passionate about person-centred practice, disability rights, social inclusion and supporting people to achieve meaningful life outcomes.

The project will focus on gaining a deeper understanding of the aspirations, goals and support needs of adults who use my client's services. The findings will help inform the future development and redesign of adult services in line with the principles of New Directions, ensuring that supports remain person-centred, evidence-based and focused on individual outcomes.

The Opportunity

Successful candidates will receive structured training and induction from the CRC in the assessment methodology before commencing the project. Ongoing support will also be provided throughout the assignment.

Over approximately 8 weeks, you will undertake scheduled assessments with adults attending services.

Assessments will explore:

  • Individual aspirations, goals and future plans
  • Community participation and social inclusion
  • Supports required to achieve meaningful outcomes
  • Unmet needs and opportunities for further development
  • Individuals' strengths, preferences and personal priorities

Requirements

  • PHD/Doctorate level in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology
  • PSI member
  • Have experience working with adults with disabilities
  • Understand the principles of New Directions and rights-based service delivery
  • Have strong skills in engagement, interviewing, facilitation and information gathering
  • Can effectively engage with adults with diverse communication needs
  • Take a strengths-based and progressive approach to disability support
  • Are passionate about person-centred practice, social inclusion and empowering individuals to achieve their goals
  • Share values centred around respect, collaboration, quality and person-centred support
