Hands-on Technical Staff Engineer (.Net Ecosystem)
I am working with a leading multinational SaaS client as they reach an exciting time of scaling their platform.
I am dealing with a highly engaged Hiring Team who are eager to fill this strategic position within the Engineering team.
In the words of the CTO, he is looking for :
“Designed X system to handle Y constraint”
“Hit this scaling issue, and I changed the architecture to…”
“I rewrote this part because it was the bottleneck”
They must have worked on hard technical problems:
- scaling multi-tenant systems
- performance bottlenecks
- data consistency and correctness
- distributed systems trade-offs
- production incidents and recovery
- We'll be looking for strong technical judgement
Clear reasoning,
- ability to explain trade-offs (not just outcomes)
- willingness to say “this is the wrong approach and here’s why”
They don’t need to be coding 100% of the time, but they must be:
- comfortable reading and reviewing real code
- capable of jumping into a system and contributing
- grounded in how things actually work, not just how they should work
