Our client, a large national organisation operating within a high-profile public service environment, is seeking an experienced Media & Communications Manager to join their Corporate Affairs and Communications function.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs & Communications, this role will lead media relations and corporate communications activity across a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation. The successful candidate will act as the central point of coordination for media engagement while supporting the delivery of proactive external communications and stakeholder engagement strategies.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced communications professional to further develop their leadership and strategic communications experience within a large-scale organisation operating at national and regional level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organisation’s press and corporate communications function
  • Manage day-to-day media relations activity and reactive communications
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media, political representatives, and key stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of proactive communications and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Ensure best-practice standards across all media engagement activity
  • Work closely with senior leadership in managing external communications and corporate reputation
  • Contribute to communications activity across a broad operational and public affairs remit

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in media relations, corporate communications, or public affairs
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Experience operating within a large, complex, or highly regulated environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and strategic communications capability
  • Ability to manage reactive and high-profile communications issues effectively
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience working with senior leadership teams and executive stakeholders
