We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Supervisor for a permanent role in the Kerry, Limerick, Cork region.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, ideally you will be a trade qualified Fitter with experience in water and wastewater service, repairs, maintenance, and installation, and have experience and / or the ability to supervise, provide technical support, and mentor a team of fitters in the region as well as handling own workload.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out assembly and on-site mechanical installation works associated with wastewater and water treatment plants
- Repair and maintenance of equipment in the Water/Wastewater industry.
- Completing repairs, upgrades and refurbishment works to existing installed systems
- Pump installations, inspections, and general maintenance tasks
- Working with various types of pipework – e.g., PVC, Ductile Iron, SS.
- Support with daily sales of service and spares to customers and support customers with any issues as efficiently as possible
- Complying with all relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work Plans and statutory regulations for Health & Safety
- Completion of daily reports and ensuring company HSQE policies are maintained for all activities.
- Identifying and promoting new ideas and improvements to the business via the appropriate reporting mechanisms.
- Supervise, support, and mentor colleagues with technical issues, problem solving, and training/upskilling.
- Other duties as may arise from time to time that are consistent with the job-holder’s knowledge and skills and are needed to effectively perform the role.
Key requirements:
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
- Experience in water/wastewater would be a distinct advantage
- Experience of working on pumps and pumping systems, motors, gearboxes, and drive systems
- Good IT skills, capable of completing basic reports, emails etc.
- Ability to work on own initiative and make on-site decisions where needed.
- Full Driving License
- Evidence of Supervisory / Team leadership / coaching skills a distinct advantage.
