Mechanical Fitter – East Cork

A leading manufacturing company in East Cork is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join its established maintenance team.

This is a hands-on maintenance role for a trade-qualified fitter already based in Ireland, ideally within commuting distance of East Cork.

Working alongside the Maintenance Manager and wider maintenance team, you will be responsible for keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently across a modern manufacturing facility.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on CNC machinery, plasma systems, vacuum systems and industrial furnaces.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise production downtime.
• Fault-find across hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC and automated systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement or upgrades.
• Complete maintenance records and ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety procedures.
• Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to keep equipment operating efficiently.

What We're Looking For

• Recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Millwright or a related discipline.
• Currently based in Ireland and able to commute to East Cork.
• Newly qualified tradespeople and experienced Mechanical Fitters are both welcome to apply.
• Good mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Exposure to PLCs, automation or electrical fault-finding is an advantage.
• A practical, proactive approach to maintenance.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work a rotating two-shift pattern:
  • Week 1: 7.00am – 4.00pm
  • Week 2: 4.00pm – 11.30pm
