Mechanical Fitter
A leading East Cork manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to support the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of critical production equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping operations running efficiently within a modern production environment.
This role is easily commutable from East Cork, West Waterford, Cork City, and South Tipperary.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on CNC machines, plasma systems, vacuum systems, and industrial furnaces.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Monitor equipment and recommend upgrades where appropriate.
- Maintain maintenance records and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to support operational targets.
Requirements
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter, Millwright, or similar.
- Open to both newly qualified tradespeople and experienced fitters
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and automation systems is desirable.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work a rotating two-shift pattern:
- Week 1: 7:00am – 4:00pm
- Week 2: 4:00pm – 11:30pm
