Mechanical Fitter

A leading East Cork manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to support the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of critical production equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping operations running efficiently within a modern production environment.

This role is easily commutable from East Cork, West Waterford, Cork City, and South Tipperary.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on CNC machines, plasma systems, vacuum systems, and industrial furnaces.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Monitor equipment and recommend upgrades where appropriate.
• Maintain maintenance records and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Work closely with maintenance and production teams to support operational targets.

Requirements

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter, Millwright, or similar.
• Open to both newly qualified tradespeople and experienced fitters
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and automation systems is desirable.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn.
• Ability to work a rotating two-shift pattern:
  • Week 1: 7:00am – 4:00pm
  • Week 2: 4:00pm – 11:30pm
