Overview
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in the Midlands, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their maintenance team. This is a days-only role offering excellent work-life balance, a generous salary, and pension.
The successful candidate will support the efficient and compliant operation of production equipment, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of plant and machinery to maximise uptime and minimise disruption to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment and plant services
- Diagnose faults and complete mechanical repairs efficiently and effectively
- Repair and replace components including bearings, belts, motors, pumps, and gearboxes
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimise downtime and production interruptions
- Support fabrication, installation, and general maintenance activities across site
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with technical audits
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members where required
Requirements
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter or equivalent trade qualification
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production maintenance environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement practices
- Ability to deputise for Maintenance Manager when required
