Mechanical Engineer | Limerick

A leading manufacturing company in Limerick is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its precision profiling team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining technical design, project management and customer engagement.

The successful candidate will manage customer projects from initial enquiry through to production and delivery, working closely with customers and internal production teams to develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main technical contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Manage engineering projects from enquiry through production to delivery
  • Create, review and update technical drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Interpret complex customer drawings and specifications
  • Conduct feasibility reviews for profiles and fabricated assemblies
  • Work with production teams to define project scope and manufacturing requirements
  • Support quotations through material selection and production time estimates
  • Identify opportunities to develop and grow existing customer accounts
  • Maintain accurate project and customer records
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across design, quoting and production planning

Requirements

  • Level 8 qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Precision Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience in a mechanical engineering, manufacturing or project-based role
  • Competence in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
  • Previous experience in stainless steel fabrication, sheet metal or precision profiling would be advantageous
  • Strong project management and customer relationship skills
  • Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
