An established and growing project-led business operating within the construction sector is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a commercially focused role that will provide critical financial reporting, forecasting and analysis across a portfolio of projects.

The Role
As Management Accountant, you will take ownership of project financial reporting, ensuring management has clear visibility of project performance, costs, margins, cashflow and forecast outcomes. You will work collaboratively with Finance, Commercial and Operations teams to ensure financial data is accurate, timely and supports informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain monthly project reporting packs, including:
- Revenue
- Cost to date
- Committed costs
- Accruals
- Forecast cost to complete
- Forecast final costs
- Project margins
- Cash position
- Analyse project performance against budgets, tender allowances and approved forecasts, identifying material variances, trends and financial risks.
- Partner with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and Commercial Managers to validate project data and challenge unexplained financial movements.
- Produce detailed variance analysis covering labour, materials, subcontractors, plant, transport, design, preliminaries and other project costs.
- Maintain accurate reporting of committed costs, purchase orders, accruals, goods received not invoiced and outstanding liabilities.
- Support monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and project review processes.
- Monitor project revenue recognition, invoicing, certifications, debtors, cash receipts and retentions.
- Prepare project cashflow forecasts and identify potential timing risks or funding pressures.
- Develop and enhance reporting tools, dashboards and Business Central reporting capabilities.
- Support senior leadership with:

- Board-level financial insight
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong project accounting and project financial reporting experience.
- Experience working within construction, engineering, manufacturing, façade, infrastructure or project-based environments is essential
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong ERP systems experience, ideally Microsoft Business Central.
- Experience supporting CVR processes and project performance reporting.
- Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and practical manner.
