Our client, a leading food manufacturer based in Cork, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their Engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to join a modern food production environment. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime
- Maintain machinery, motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, and production equipment
- Support machinery installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
- Complete maintenance records and assist with spare parts management
- Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment performance
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements
Requirements
- Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Maintenance, or a related discipline
- Experience in manufacturing, food production, industrial, or engineering environments
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with automated production equipment
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and maintenance best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement
