A skilled Mechanical Craft Person is required to deliver high-quality mechanical maintenance in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This hands-on role supports plant reliability, efficiency, and continuous production, working closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out mechanical fault finding, breakdown response, and repairs to minimise downtime
- Execute planned preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Maintain and overhaul equipment including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and rotating machinery
- Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems
- Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of mechanical equipment
- Ensure full compliance with HSEQ standards, including Permit to Work and LOTO procedures
- Accurately complete CMMS work orders and maintenance records
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and contractors to optimise plant performance
- Participate in shutdowns and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Qualified Mechanical Craftsperson (QQI/FETAC Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate or equivalent)
- 3+ year's experience in an industrial maintenance environment
- Strong experience in mechanical fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Good working knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam systems
- Experience using CMMS and good computer literacy
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team
