Maintenance Technician

Co. Kildare
Full Time | Permanent | Monday to Friday (Days Only)

An established and leading medical device manufacturer based in Co. Kildare is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its expanding team. Operating within a high-volume, highly automated environment, this role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, quality compliance and production efficiency.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a candidate with strong automation and/or injection moulding experience who thrives in a structured, compliance-driven manufacturing setting and is motivated to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance across manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex systems including injection moulding machines and multi-axis robotics
  • Support installation, commissioning and modification of automated equipment
  • Interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics and system layouts
  • Lead and support process improvement initiatives in line with Lean and change management principles
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with cGMP and Quality Management System requirements
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards

Requirements

  • Third-level qualification in Automation Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or similar, or a fully qualified trade with relevant manufacturing experience
  • Strong competency in electrical diagnostics and fault finding
  • Proven experience in automation and/or injection moulding is essential
  • Demonstrated experience working on high-volume automated production equipment
  • Knowledge of PLCs, servo drives, pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics
  • Understanding of QMS principles, ideally ISO13485
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
