FRS Recruitment are working with a well-established Irish Civil Engineering and Infrastructure Contractor to recruit an experienced Lead HSEQ Advisor (Pre-Construction) to join their team in Galway.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior or Lead HSEQ professional looking to move beyond a predominantly site-based position, with greater involvement across pre-construction, PQQs, tender submissions and wider HSEQ strategy.

The successful candidate will work across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects incorporating Civil, Structural and M&E works, supporting both pre-construction and operational teams from tender stage through to project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HSEQ input across PQQ and tender submissions.
  • Prepare tailored responses to project-specific tender requirements.
  • Review tender documentation, identifying key HSEQ requirements and constraints.
  • Support Construction and Technical teams during pre-construction planning.
  • Attend site visits for prospective and ongoing projects.
  • Review HSEQ procedures against legislation and industry requirements.
  • Support sustainability procedures, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support colleagues across the wider HSEQ function.

Requirements

  • Level 7 qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • 6+ years' HSEQ industry experience required, ideally with preconstruction experience in the Irish Construction Industry.
  • PQQ and tender submission experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of current Irish HSEQ legislation required.
  • Civil infrastructure or construction experience is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent technical writing, reporting and organisational capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative working approach.
  • Proficient across Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
