A leading organisation within the construction materials industry is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team based in Tipperary. This role will support the testing and quality control of materials used in construction and road projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in materials testing, laboratory work, and site based quality control, with the chance to gain hands-on experience across laboratory and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out laboratory testing on construction materials including aggregates, concrete and bituminous products.
- Perform routine quality control tests such as slump testing, cube preparation, compression testing, sieve analysis, moisture content testing, binder content testing and material gradings.
- Support site-based testing activities when required.
- Record and report test results accurately in line with established procedures.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to help maintain product quality.
- Ensure testing is conducted in accordance with relevant Irish and European standards and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, records and calibration logs.
- Collect and prepare material samples from operational and site locations.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in construction materials, aggregates, concrete, asphalt or laboratory testing would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with EN or ISO testing standards is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Additional Requirements
- Full driving licence required as the role may involve occasional travel between operational sites.
