About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing development company and gain exposure to all commercial aspects of a live residential project. The successful candidate will work closely with senior commercial and project teams, assisting with cost management, procurement, valuations, and financial reporting throughout the project life-cycle.

The current development has approximately two years remaining, with further long-term opportunities available on future projects within the business thereafter. This role would suit an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a stable and expanding organisation.

The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, receiving ongoing support and guidance while developing their commercial and technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project cost control and budget management
  • Support the preparation of valuations and payment applications
  • Monitor subcontractor accounts and variations
  • Assist with procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Prepare and maintain commercial project documentation
  • Support cost reporting and forecasting activities
  • Review drawings and specifications for commercial implications
  • Liaise with site, design, and commercial teams
  • Assist with final account preparation and agreement
  • Ensure commercial records are maintained accurately

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • 1- 3 years' quantity surveying experience
  • Experience within construction, developer, or consultancy environments
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good understanding of construction contracts and cost control
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
